My general research interests include forest restoration, biodiversity, and function as well as the provision of ecological services for tropical forest ecosystems. I am currently working on the effectiveness of dipterocarp cultivation schemes, assessing the health of forests and rivers. The essence of this project is to study the growth and death of various dipterocarp seed enrichment species grown and how other biodiversity interacts in different conditions especially related to carbon storage, forest warming, soil composition variation, altitude zones, and land-use changes in North Borneo. I will also investigate whether it is possible to link the data collected in this field to a larger scale through the application of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing methodologies.
